This one all stemmed from the title, and of course, Lizzy's Taylor. The more I tried to complicate this song, the more it fought me. I gave in, and let it be as unadorned as it seemed to be demanding. I don't know if there's been a song all year that's less "produced" than this one. I didn't even use any compression or nuthin'.
lyrics
Coward you are
Coward you'll be
Someone should put you out your misery
You're not sure how
You got down this road
You don't deserve to be the one in the know
Stand up straight, you better suck that gut in
Those shoes are scuffed that suit is awfully ill-fitting
We're all assembled now so what's the big idea
That's all you got? No wonder we're all sliding down the hill
Coward you are
Coward you'll be
Someone should put you out your misery
Cowards we are
Cowards are we
Leaving behind our yellow legacy
Comb your hair there's one too many out of place
And brush your teeth, that breath's enough to melt my face
Please mind your manners, this might be your only shot
Not much to show for promises you shouldn't ought to have made
