A collision of several ideas I've been kicking around: 1) I wanted to do a song that was essentially just keys and vocals 2) I wanted to write a tune about some Imperial dudes trying to cheer up Lord Vader after the destruction of the first Death Star, and 3) I wanted to write a song that had no repetition of melodic and rhythmic elements - that is, no repeated figures, riffs or melodies.
You know, all the stuff that makes a song stick in your head and be all memorable and stuff?
Yeah, none of that.
lyrics
We've noticed that you're down
But we know you did all that you could do
You had that pilot dead to rights
We're still looking into how the freighter got past our outer defenses
Be that as it may
We've been really busy
We've built you a new slick ride
It's called a "Super Star Destroyer"
You're still the Dark Lord of the Sith
You're still the Badass of the Galaxy
Even your Master is afraid of you
You'll get another chance to even up the score, yeah
That shot was one in a million
The rebels won't get so lucky again
Turns out the kid who did it was just a little piss-ant farmer
...and did you hear his name?
Get a load of this...
His name is Skywalker
Aw, come on, you gotta be kidding me!
What kinda stupid name is Skywalker anyway?
