about

Has the name Esther ever been used in a song title? I certainly don't remember it. I'm sure I'm 100% wrong about that, but oh well.

This song is all about the love of a groove. There's sort of a 3/4 being played at the same time as 4/4 thing going on in there. When I listen to it, I want to go outside and do a rain dance or something. I don't really know what that means, exactly - but that's how it makes me feel.

lyrics

I got a pain like a soreness
Will still be there in the morning
She's gonna bend like a tall tree
Make my objection feel paltry

See that's a ring on her finger
And normally I wouldn't linger
She wave at me like the ocean
Is that the way she is with everyone?

She don't know it, but she's messin' with my head again
(What about it?)

She got a face for the ages
She got me breakin' down in stages
Got a hammer, God of Thunder?
Please whack me with it, put me under

I shouldn't dare to repeat this
Better buried in a crevice
Somewhere far away from we two
Don't wanna tell you 'cause I know you

She don't know it, but she's messin' with my head again
(What about it?)
I'm not mad, I'm not mad at her, no

Esther hurts my head

Sally Forth into wonder
Happy thoughts torn asunder
Got a pain in my shoulder
Every day getting older

Trapped here in a thimble
This Jack can't be nimble
Next Sunday I'll see you
11th hour will teach you

Came here again for some seconds
Thirds, fourths and remembrance
Imagine me underneath you
Name our children: Monique, Lou

You know you gonna be abandoned
Tossed aside again at random
You're gonna wish you had choices
Don't forget where your voice is

You sold your soul on the sly
Who can blame you in times like these?
The damage won't be the same as it used to be
You know the standards have changed

There will be some who ask why
They'll come in bearing their own hypotheses
You know the standards have changed

Esther hurts my head
