The first song I wrote after the long ordeal of getting the Half Zaftig debut full-length "Life Like Luster" finished and out to the world. I realized immediately that 1) this was NOT a band song, and 2) I really liked it a lot, but what was I gonna do with it? Thinking about answering that question is what ultimately gave rise to the "5240" project. So if you like "5240", you have "Busy Girl" to thank for its existence.
lyrics
I'm gonna miss her on Monday
Tuesday too
Depends on the weather
On Wednesday she is working
So alone I'll be lurking
It cannot be helped
I can't believe that it's Thursday
And there's no word, not even a message
I'll surely see her on Friday - wait, something's up
She sends her regrets
'Cause she's a busy girl, busy girl
So now it's been at least three weeks
Or maybe a month - since the last time I saw her
I sent another long email
I know that she read it, I got the receipt
Now I know how it's looking
You think I'm a fool
It's not always like this
I guess I see some potential, so here I wait
Wonder what's on TV
Now she's coming 'round
What can I do to make it worth her while
She's so tightly wound, wound up, wound up
Now she's coming 'round
What can I do to make it worth her while
She's got nowhere to go but down, down, down, down, down
