I spent a lot of time listening to the Beatles in Mono box set this week. I hadn't listened to much of their early catalog in a long time, and I was amused at how much of the stuff was loaded with super-sappy "love lyrics" and thought I'd try my hand at some. Oh, also in mono. I also found it interesting that on several of their famous tunes, the tambourine and percussion are actually LOUDER in the mix than the drums are.
I think I want to do a whole EP in mono sometime. That would be fun.
lyrics
You know I love you, baby
There's no one for me but you
You got a reputation
Of disinterest in being true
You say one thing
But you really mean another
Today you're with me
But tomorrow schtup my brother
Too much time these days
I don't know why you hurt me
It's not my style to make demands
If you don't stop cattin' 'round, girl
I'm gonna make like the Son of Sam
You're the only one
That I want for my lover
I'll be your Mel Gibson
Won't cha be my Danny Glover
Too much time these days
You've wounded all my pride, girl
And I can't let that slide
I'll show you my dark side, girl
And you'll end up buried under somebody's double-wide
Too much time these days
